October 18, 2006 Council Meeting Minutes

                    The board of Council for the City of Central City, Kentucky met in regular session with Mayor Hugh W. Sweatt, Jr. presiding.
                    City Attorney Russell L. Croley was present.

                    Because there was no quorum, the October 11, 2005 meeting went into recess until October 18,2005.  Mike Jenkins made a motion for the meeting
                    to come out of recess and was seconded by Barry Shaver.  Unanimous "aye", motion carried.

                PRAYER:  David Richey

                COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT:  Elizabeth Ann Gentry, Mike Jenkins, Jim Koper, Jerry Mitchell, David Richey, Barry Shaver, Stan Spence and Joe Glenn Mitchell.

                COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT:  None

                MINUTES: 
                September 20, 2006 Regular Meeting Minutes
                A motion to accept the regular meeting minutes was made by Jerry Mitchell and was seconded by Stan Spence.
                Unanimous "aye" motion carried.
                   
                 CORRESPONDENCE:  None

                 FINANCIAL REPORT: 
                 A motion to accept the September Financial Report was made by David Richey and was seconded by Stan Spence.
                 Unanimous "aye" motion carried.

                 OCTOBER BILLS TO BE PAID:
                 A motion to accept the October Bills was made by Jerry Mitchell and was seconded by Jim Koper.
                Unanimous "aye" motion carried.

                ADDITIONS/DELETIONS:
                David Richey made a motion to add the discussion of skateboarding in the downtown area as item #1 under new business to the agenda.
                The motion was second by Mike Jenkins.  Unanimous "aye", motion carried.

                AGENDA:
                A motion to adopt the agenda as amended was made by Barry Shaver and was seconded by Jim Koper.
                Unanimous "aye" motion carried.

                COMMITTEE REPORT:
                1)  BUILDING INSPECTOR - There were 4 permits issued with a $34.20 rebate to the City.

                OLD BUSINESS: None

               NEW BUSINESS:
               1) DISCUSSION OF SKATEBOARDING IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA
               David Richey asked the city Council to come up with a solution for the skateboarding activity in the downtown area. He suggested that a committee be formed to
               look at options to resolve the problem. Mayor Sweatt designated a committee consisting of: David Richey, David Rhoades, and Elizabeth Ann Gentry. The committee
               will meet and try to resolve the issue.

              There being no further business, David Richey made a motion to adjourn.  The motion was seconded by Jim Koper.  Unanimous "aye", motion carried.
